I could not speak more highly of the service I recieved today. From the initial call, to bringing my baby in, the staff was phenomenal. Such care and compassion was shown. They helped me through a very painful and heartbreaking experience. Even the person that does the cremation cleaned up my baby boy so I could see him and say goodbye one last time. I am truly grateful for the people that helped me today.

We have used Oakey's pet crematory services a number of times over the years and I cannot express how grateful we are for the compassion and professionalism Marjene showed during such difficult times. Losing a beloved pet is heartbreaking, but the staff treated our furry family members with the utmost dignity and respect from start to finish. They were kind, patient, and understanding, taking the time to explain every step of the process and answer all of our questions. The facility was clean, peaceful, and thoughtfully maintained, which gave us a great sense of comfort. The turnaround time was exactly as promised, and our pet’s ashes were returned to us in beautiful urns, carefully prepared and presented with care. They also went above and beyond by providing a paw prints and small clippings of fur as keepsakes. Those thoughtful touches mean more to us than words can express and have brought us real comfort during our times of grief. What truly stood out was their empathy. It never felt transactional — they genuinely cared about helping us honor our pet’s memory. In a moment filled with grief, their warmth and professionalism made a world of difference. I highly recommend their services to anyone facing the loss of a cherished companion. They provide not just a service, but comfort and compassion when it’s needed most.

Matthew Kolnok @the Roanoke Location made our HEARTBREAK easier to deal with. He is SO GIFTED in this line of work & I wanted to THANK HIM + OAKEY'S for taking such WONDERFUL CARE of our Fur Baby. Words cannot express how grateful we are. His Soft Spoken Demeanor, Kindness & Sincere Concern for our family during this Tragic Time is Priceless. I highly recommend him/them to ANYONE going through such a HUGE LOSS. GOD BLESS & THANK YOU AGAIN for EVERYTHING!

Thank you so much for giving Bruce the compassion and dignity he deserved. Thank you for being there when I needed someone the most to have Bruce taken care of, so he didn't have to wait until the next morning. He truly was a gift and an angel that I'll never forget.

I am currently looking into obtaining a lawyer. They called me the following day to pick up my cat's remains after I had already picked him up the afternoon before. My daughter was in the truck and heard the entire conversation through the truck audio. She immediately lost it and now we are all wondering if we even have the right cat. Imagine going to a funeral burying the body and the next day you get a call that your loved ones body is ready to view. I own 2 businesses in Roanoke and the level of pure ugliness that came out of Marjerene mouth toward my daughter when we went there after we were hung up on when they called for me to pick up the remains I had already picked up. Videos coming to YouTube shortly. Also she refused any compensation or apologies and said services had been rendered. Might have worked before smartphones. Now it will be everywhere. Congratulations oakeys on employing such a foul cold hearted person.

Staff needs training on how to properly keep records. To have you pick up your cats remains then call the next day to tell you the remains are ready because "no one told the other person it had been picked up" is completely unprofessional. It is a stressful enough time without the added stress of not knowing if you have picked up your beloved pet or someone else’s. Please do better.

My partner and I highly recommend Oakey’s Pet Funeral Home & Crematory. This was our first time experiencing the loss of a pet, and we are so glad we entrusted them with our hamster. Our fur baby passed the day before a holiday. Even though it was after business hours, we were able to get into contact with a staff member to inquire about making an appointment with them (turns out we didn’t need an appointment). They were very accommodating, and we were able to drop him off two days later, after the holiday, and to start the process. Their staff members are compassionate, professional, and patient. Marjene and Christopher are wonderful; they made the entire process run smoothly. They had a lovely selection of urns, keychains, and jewelry for your pet’s ashes. We got ink and clay paw prints done, as well as some fur clippings as keepsakes. With the clay paw prints, you get to select the color of the bow and heart. Everything turned out perfect. We are very pleased with our experience with Oakey’s, and will definitely take our future pets to them.
